Let children and adolescents be at the center of all public policy: Evelyn Salgado

“Let girls, boys, adolescents be at the center of all public policy, as subjects of rights and as a priority”, said the governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, during the opening of the 35th General Assembly of the Mexican Network of Child Friendly Cities (RMCAN), where confirmed his commitment and conviction for guarantee development, integrity, well-being and protecting the rights of this sector with a comprehensive vision.

Before the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Luis Fernando Carrera Castro, the state president referred to all the work that has been promoted in the district offer better living conditions to the children of Guerrero, with safe spaces, without violence and with the possibility to generate real development.

Salgado Pineda noted that for the first time, 57 municipalities of Guerrero are part of this effort to find shared solutions, which originate from the local, with an integrative vision and enable us to offer better policies for the care and protection of children.

For this reason, he pointed out that precise strategies are put in place that focus on promoting a culture of protection of this sector and eliminating practices that violate their rights through actions such as restoration of the Comprehensive System for the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents and full restoration of all municipal agencies that deal with this problem; eradicating forced child marriage and eliminating violence, among others.

“From the mountains to the shores, in all regions of Guerrero, we will not rest until we eradicate this practice in all its forms, not a step back in protecting our girls and our juniors, wherever they are, we will ending forced marriages emphasized.

In the presence of representatives from various municipalities in the country, the head of state executive called on all those who contribute to this joint action the strengthening of cooperation ties continued so that these spaces continue to be reproduced, as well as shared policies and strategies keep working from the communities and promoting a new vision focused on the effective protection of rights.

In turn, the representative of UNICEF acknowledged the efforts promoted by Governor Evelyn Salgado, which works clearly and strategically for the benefit of children. “It is not possible to build a better Mexico, nor a better municipality, nor a better state, if it is not possible to transform the lives of children and adolescents”, he pointed out.

I believe that through coordinated work this will be possible keep focusing your efforts to offer new opportunities, eliminating child poverty and to raise the level of the quality of education in Mexico.

During his participation, the mayor of Zihuatanejo, Jorge Sanchez Alec, highlighted the work of Governor Evelyn Salgado who is a a big promoter of child support.

In his welcome, he emphasized the importance of this meeting, the purpose of which is to mapping the mental health of Mexican children and suggests actions aimed at their protection: “We are safe and committed to improvement of living conditions by strongly promoting public policies,” he added.

As part of this act, the President of RMCAN and the Mayor of Guadalajara, Pablo Lemus Navarro, protested the municipalities that are part of this initiative, emphasizing Acatepec, Auacuocingo, Atenango del Rio, Atlixtac, Atoyac, Benito Juarez, Cochoapa the Great, Coppala, Copalillo, General Heliodoro Castillo, Huamuxitlan, Jose Joaquin de Herrera, Malinaltepec, Petatlan, Pilcaya, San Marcos, Taxco, Tecpan, Tixtla.

The event will take place on October 13 and 14 where there are specialists in the issues related to children and they will present seminars, learning outcomes, lectures, among other activities.
