The first edition, held in 2021, brought together more than 15,000 participants, and this year an even larger number is expected.
The circuits exhibited by the organization include the Kempes Stadium area and Kempes Park, Costanera Norte and Sur, as well as sectors of the Nueva Córdoba, Centro and Urca neighborhoods, thus passing through numerous public spaces restored by the Metropolitan Municipality.
It will have 42K, 21K and 10K race categories as well as a 5K participation test. Winners will receive cash prizes and a participation medal, a product of the circular economy.
Registration for participants is free, with a limited number of places, through maraton42k.cordoba.gob.ar, until October 27 inclusive.

The competitions will be held according to the current regulations of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) and the International Association of Marathons (AIMS). The 42K and 21K circuits were measured and certified according to IAAF / AIMS rules.
Miguel Siciliano, Government Secretary and General Manager of the Cabinet, stated: “The marathon is another example of all the work we are doing from the management to continue positioning the capital in the country and the region, installing the Córdoba Ciudad brand“.
“In the first edition, nearly 10,000 participants were runners who came to the city from the interior of the province, from the rest of Argentina and from abroad. Which means they spent at least one night in the capital, used our hotels, restaurants, taxis and accommodation, bought in our businesses, in short, left what the tourism industry leaves in the cities: more employment.“, he added.
Inclusion of non-binary category X
In addition, within the intensive gender, diversity and inclusion policy implemented by the municipality, and in accordance with the current legal framework in the country, the City Marathon will offer athletes the three gender options for the first time, in all its schemes and categories ( conventional and adapted).
In this way, the Municipality of Córdoba adapts the regulations in accordance with the validity of Law 26,743 and National Decree 476/2021 and includes the option of registration “x” (non-binary) for people who do not identify as female or male. and have made the specified change to the national identity document.
