The 14th provincial book fair with places for children and teenagers

There will be stories, poetry, book launches, talks, workshops and films from the Children’s Audiovisual Cycle. For teenagers, there will be Anime Space.
Children and teenagers will have their place at the 14th Provincial Book Fair, which will be held at the same time as the El Ponchito Festival, from Wednesday 12 to Sunday 16 October from 9:00 a.m. at the fairgrounds of Catamarca.
The children’s room, located at the entrance to the hall, will offer the little ones mornings and afternoons of stories, poetry, book presentations, talks and workshops. In addition, in the Bicentennial Space they will be able to enjoy two screenings of the audiovisual cycle aimed at children.
On the first day, at 9.30 a.m., the activity in the Children’s room will begin with the story “My grandmother told me” by Silvia Perez; at 10:00 a.m. “The farm messes”, by Chincho Poroto, and at 11:00 a.m. with the lecture “Is it possible to innovate in education?”, by Monica Chavez and Laura García Blanco. In the afternoon, at 15:00 and 17:00 Marta Villaroel will read her poems, and at 16:00 Los Tortognomos will perform “The spell of words”.
On Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Silvia Perez will share the story “Grandma told me”, at 10:30 a.m. Griselda Krapp will read her poems, at 4:00 p.m. it’s the turn of the Rap School for Kids “Writing with Rhythm” “, by Nicolas Ferreira from the Ministry of Culture of the Nation and at 18.00 the seminar of the Popular Library Manuel Ponferrada will close the day.
The Julio Herrera Provincial Library will hold the bookmarking workshop on Wednesday at 12:00pm and 6:30pm and on Thursday at 11:00am and 5:00pm.
On Friday at 9:00 a.m. it will start with storytelling with Rumauri, at 10:00 a.m. with a reading of poems from the book “Voz del Alma” by the author Lucio Vega Melian and the plastic arts workshop related to the collection of poems, from the Mafalda Municipal Library, from the city of La Puerta, Ambato.
From 10.30 a.m., Gabriela Piombo from the National Ministry of Culture will give a workshop on myths and legends, and from 11.30 a.m. there will be a presentation of the story book created by 6th grade students from OU #292 “Province of Tucuman” in La Merced, Paklin.
In the afternoon, from 3:00 p.m., the puppet making workshop will take place, at 4:00 p.m. there will be a story by the Catacuenta group, and from 5:00 p.m. Chincho Poroto’s Rueda Ruedita and “The forest of wishes come true” will be presented by Los Tortognomos. The day will end in this space with the workshop of the popular Manuel Ponferrada Library.
On Saturday from 16:00 Federico Abaca will present “We make dolls” and from 17:00 the workshop “Drawing Stories” for children and the general public will be held, led by Norberto “Polly” Bernatene with an attractive proposal to learn about the process of illustrating children’s stories. On Saturday and Sunday at 15:00 Javier Zalazar will present “Stories with Flowers” and on the last day at 16:00 a puppet-making workshop will be held.
Audiovisual cycle
As part of the Audiovisual Cycle for the Book Fair 2022, on Wednesday from 12.00 to 16.00 the Bicentennial Space will screen the documentary film “Horácio Quiroga, the Storyteller” and on Sunday from 16.00 the feature film “The Strangest girl of the world’, both in collaboration with Cine Móvil Catamarca.
The documentary shows a journey through the life and work of the Latin American writer Horacio Quiroga, his stories, passions and time. Developed in collaboration by children and adults – including parents and teachers – at the El Mate Film Workshop, a film school for children in Argentina.
The Strangest Girl in the World, directed by Mariano Cattaneo, tells the story of Melienne, a lonely 15-year-old girl who chooses to draw and read instead of spending time with her classmates. But she assures that her drawings are not just drawings, but creatures that sprung from her imagination and have now taken on a life of their own.

On October 12, 13 and 14, the Tateti Tournament will be held at Espacio Animé from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. next to the Municipal Technology Center. And on Saturday and Sunday from 16:00 and 18:00, Sebastian Gershani will hold the workshop “I draw cartoons”, aimed at children from 7 to 10 years and adolescents from 11 to 14 years.
The activity “Creating characters from cartoons” is intended for both levels, the workshop “Gestures and emotions” will be for children from 7 to 11 years old, and the class “Composition of characters” and “Creating a comic” is aimed. in adolescents from 11 to 14 years. But the offerings will be adapted according to the age and interests of the audience.
