The Santa Fe Foundation just announced that Senator Roy Barreras has cancer. This was made public in a statement he shared on his Twitter account.

“The Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, at the request and authorization of the President of the Congress, Senator Roy Barreras Montealegre, informs the public that during a routine check carried out last week, a trauma was found which was confirmed by pathology studies as adenocarcinoma of the lower digestive tractfor which multidisciplinary treatment is necessary,” the announcement said.

According to the medical report issued by the Fundación Santa Fe, Senator Barreras suffered from adenocarcinoma of the lower digestive tract, which according to Ángel Alberto Castro, a gastroenterologist at the National University, would correspond to a malignant tumor, possibly of the colon or rectum.
