The Ministry of Health ruled on the budget of the sector for 2023 – Health

The Minister of Health Carolina Corcio assured that action is being taken at a technical level to clarify the false statements that appear in public opinion regarding the budget of the sector.

Minister Korcho pointed out that the country is in a fiscal deficit and the proposed budget has not yet been approved. He clarified that the Ministry of Health has a 5 billion peso deficit left over from the previous administration and that corrections must be made.

He also mentioned that the projected health budget is the highest in history. “It is not true that the health care budget has been reduced. That’s a lie,” Cork added.

During the session last September 14 in the Seventh Constitutional Commission of the Congress of the Republic, Corço raised the possible non-payment of the corrections of the mechanism for maximum budgets that are due for 2021 in the health sector and the reduction of
insurance funds for 2023

These decisions have provoked a series of controversial positions by some participants in the union, who assure that such approaches would seriously affect the guarantee of the right to health care for Colombians, especially the most vulnerable, and would expose the EPS to greater risk, financial imbalance .
