How much Colombians plan to spend on Love and Friendship – Sectors – Economy

Traders trust that this Saturday the holiday of Love and friendship be positive for their business, in addition many companies are optimizing their operations to support demand, the shipping sector is one of the most affected.

However, the spending budget for the gift given on this date will be the same as last year and fewer people will celebrate this date compared to 2019, according to survey conducted by the National Federation of Traders, Fenalco.

While three years ago 83 percent of respondents said they would celebrate, this year that percentage is 79 percent. On this occasion, 21 percent stated that they would not celebrate and three years ago the rate was 17 percent.

In fact, three years ago, 78 percent of Colombians played “secret friend” (mostly with colleagues), this year it will be 68%.

The highest budgeted amount for a gift will be up to $50,000 (43 percent), then they are in the $50,000 and $100,000 range (38 percent), and only 19 percent have planned spending that exceeds $100,000. Compared to last year, 48 per a hundred say the amount will remain the same.

Along with these union figures, traders say they are ready to cater for those who will be celebrating.

Other sectors receiving impact

On the other hand, the weekend of love and friendship shipments will increase to 40 percent.
