The Atlantic coastone of the 17 chains of Natural Route program of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, connects in the southern part of the province of Buenos Aires beaches such as San Cayetano, Claromeco, Orense Y Mount Beautifulamong others that offer unique landscapes and tranquility for a different experience.

It is about a journey no more than 300 kilometers through the southern “belly” of the province, where open landscapes stand out, long sandy beaches, quiet and friendly areas with visitors and attractions such as lighthouses or surprising waterfalls in lowland rivers.

Between beaches and lagoons

So yes, we can get to the coast and surprise ourselves with the beach resort San Cayetano, in the party of the same name and 574 kilometers from the city of Buenos Aires; for more information, 70 kilometers south of the head of the municipality of San Cayetano and, of course, the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

From the town of San Cayetano – located on RP 85, 68 km east of Tres Arroyos and 90 km northwest of Necochea – it is reached by provincial road 75 to the Energy Roundabout, then follow Route 72 and after 14.5 kilometers turn left and proceed to the Spa.

In the small seaside resort, 200 meters from the city center, is located La Salada Interpretive Trailwhich covers 2.7 kilometers of self-guided circuit, with viewpoints and signs to identify various birds and plants, and ends at the recreational lagoon of the same name.

Another spa in this chain is Marisolin the game of Colonel Doregoin a natural environment that combines sea, forest and dunes, 22 kilometers from the city of Oriente and 110 kilometers from the main city that gives its name to the district.

It can be reached by taking National Road 3 to kilometer 531 and taking Provincial Road 108, which leads to Oriente, and from there another 22 kilometers to the coast.

From Route 3, at the roundabout on Provincial Route 78, this route leads to Mount Beautifula famous seaside resort that offers a 32-kilometer long beach with fine sand and a very gentle slope.

Due to its geographical location (from east to west), it is one of the few beaches in the country where the sun rises and sets in the sea (also happens in Claromecó) so you can stay in the sand for a longer time, without shadow cones.

Its expanse, the warmth of its waters and the security of its coast make the place a popular destination for thousands of tourists, where the family atmosphere prevails. And another surprising fact: in 2019 Monte Hermoso was chosen among the best 25 beaches in South America by users of the Trip Advisor platform.

And 7 kilometers to the northwest, g Laguna Sos Grandean ideal avifauna reservoir for bird watchers and also a paradise for fishermen and water sports enthusiasts.

You can also go through a walk in a pine forest, a forest reserve suitable for recreation; while 6 kilometers from the center and the beach is located Pehuen Co-Monte Hermoso Nature Reservewhich retains marks and prints from 7000 years ago in silt-clay sediments.

Another attraction of Monte Hermoso, located three kilometers from the center, is Lighthouse on land67 meters high: it was inaugurated in January 1906, and inside a central tube with a diameter of 1.5 meters it houses a circular staircase with more than 300 steps resulting in its optical system emitting light.

From the boathouse to Bahía Blanca

From Monte Hermoso, after leaving route 3 south until kilometer 640 to join provincial road 113 and travel about 30 kilometers, you will reach the spa of Pehuen Cogame of Colonel Rosales.
