As every year, the municipalities have planned various activities for the children to enjoy the family day. Provide them with days where they can enjoy spaces in the city adapted to their interests and recreation.
For this year, the offer is varied and here is an overview of what you can find this weekend.
Celebrating children and revitalizing the English Quarter is the motto with which the municipality of Coquimbo has developed a wide range of activities to celebrate the little ones at home on their day.
The commitment of the municipality of Coquimbo is Barrio Kid’s, a display of activities that will take place in the perimeter formed by Bilbao, Gonzalez, Melgarejo and Aldunate streets, that is, from the city center to the English Quarter.
Among the novelties for this day is that the activities are intended for two audiences: young people, who will concentrate the activities on Saturday, 6, from 13:00; and on Sunday, the day is aimed at the youngest and will start at 10:00.
For the activities, the municipality had two stages, one will be located in the Plaza Vicuña Mackenna in the English Quarter and the other in the Plaza de Armas in the city.
The first scenario is undoubtedly the one that will concentrate most of the activities. It will start on Saturday with an offer designed for teenagers: anime, freestyle and urban music will be heard in the afternoon; and from 19:00, the culture related to the Asian world will be given with the performance of cosplayers and the best K-pop choreographies.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, from 10am, the little ones will be able to move their bodies to the rhythm of Zumba Kid’s; while at 13:00 the puppets will take the stage to give way at 14:00 to the play La Rana y René; and from 15:00 it’s the turn of Jurellito’s clown and other surprises.
Meanwhile, the second stage, located in the Plaza de Armas, will feature as its main activity the “Voice of the Children’s Neighborhood”, a competition designed to highlight the local talents of boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12, which will be held from 11:00 a.m. . At 15:00 there will be activities for those present; and at 16:00 the puppets will arrive to give way at 18:00 to exceptional children’s performances.
Barrio Kid’s will also have a circus presentation, a corporal, motorcycle and citronette club, as well as tours and activities at the Palace Cultural Center, the House of Arts and the Municipal Library, which will present anime magazines, all with the introduction of entrepreneurs and traders to make this weekend a must for the little ones.
Another unforgettable activity will be the arrival of Festiluz on Saturday from 13:00, when it will present an unforgettable show for the family.
Barrio Kid’s will be repeated in Tongoy on Sunday, August 14, and in Tierras Blancas on August 20.
Meanwhile, the Municipality of Lima has chosen activities in the city’s Plaza de Armas.
The day will start at 9.30am and continue until 2pm, when for four hours it will offer inflatable games for the little ones, mechanical games and children’s shows.
In addition, the youngest will be able to enjoy sports activities, for which the municipal department “Sport” will be responsible, to encourage the practice of various disciplines.
The morning will also include the participation of local entrepreneurs who will be able to offer their products and will be enlivened by the Municipal Choir, who on the occasion of this special celebration will tour the square in costumes of popular children’s characters of the moment.
The municipality of La Serena will not have major activities this year, the proposal of the municipality of Serena will be focused on the theme of rights: “Children’s Day and the Rights of the Child”.
The proposal examines children’s interventions related to children’s rights and obligations in a playful, entertaining and educational way.
The intervention will be carried out in different sectors of the municipality.
